Website Background Music
Whether you are a fan of website background music or not, the convergence of technologies and hi-speed broadband are making new websites more of a multimedia experience.
Used well, website background music, streaming royalty free music and flash music loops can really enhance your users experience and make a website stand out from the crowd.
Background music on a website can help relax your visitor and create a friendly shopping environment. Music in flash elements can create an interactive experience for the user or as an introduction or guide when accompanied with a voice-over.
New Websites
If you are creating a new website, we understand that most of your budget will be spent on the website and that your music will need to be affordable therefore royalty free music is an ideal choice. Also, your website like most others will take some time to generate significant traffic and for these reasons, we are happy for you to purchase our music licenses as the ‘Standard License’ for use in a new website. This makes it affordable for you and worthwhile for Media Music Now and our composers.
All we do ask is that you synchronise your royalty free music with visuals and do your best to make sure that it can’t be downloaded in its raw form as a music track.
Established Websites
If you are adding our music to an established website, you may have to pay a little more than our ‘Standard License’ for your royalty free music, however, you will need significant traffic before this is the case. When adding a track to your basket there is a drop down list entitled ‘Duplication & Exposure Rights’, more about this here >
In this case, our term ‘duplication & exposure rights’ refers to the approximate number of individuals that will hear the music from your website.
We know that this is not an exact science, however, we do ask that when you are purchasing a royalty free music license from us, you treat the 'up to' number in the drop down list as the number of unique daily visitors to your website.
You can get this information from your web stats but please keep in mind 1000 unique visits (our standard license) is a lot, don’t confuse this with overall visits or hits which will show as much higher. Also, some statistic programs inflate the figures to almost double what they actually are. We know Google Analytics to be the most accurate.
We are not trying to be greedy here, we just believe that our composers talents should be recognised and feel that a high profile, high traffic website should pay licenses proportional to their usage. The ‘Duplication & Exposure Rights’ section of our license protects their interests.
Crediting the Composer / Media Music Now
It is not essential to credit the composer or Media Music Now for use online, but it is highly appreciated and it helps to spread the word about our service. More about this >
